ACCEPTABLE IDs FOR A NEW HAMPSHIRE NOTARY
NH RSA 456-B:2-b
NH RSA 456-B:2-b (Identification of Individual). I. A notarial officer has personal knowledge of the identity of an individual appearing before the officer if the individual is personally known to the officer through dealings sufficient to provide reasonable certainty that the individual has the identity claimed. II. A notarial officer has satisfactory evidence of the identity of an individual appearing before the officer if the officer can identify the individual: (a) By means of: (1) A passport, driver's license, or government issued nondriver identification card, which is current and unexpired; or (2) Another form of government identification issued to an individual, which is current and unexpired, contains the signature or a photograph of the individual, and is satisfactory to the officer; or (b) By a verification upon oath or affirmation of a credible witness personally appearing before the officer and known to the officer or whom the officer can identify on the basis of a passport, driver's license, or government issued nondriver identification card, which is current and unexpired. III. A notarial officer may require an individual to provide additional information or identification credentials necessary to assure the officer of the identity of the individual.
STATE IDs
New Hampshire requires a current, state-issued identification bearing a photograph or signature.

*Acceptable only if the License to Carry/CHL card bears a photograph or signature - verify on the card presented; some states' License to Carry/CHLs do not.
**New Hampshire does not issue this credential.

New Hampshire requires a current, federally issued identification bearing a photograph or signature.

GOVERNMENT EMPLOYMENT IDs
New Hampshire requires a current, government-issued identification bearing a photograph or signature.

CREDIBLE WITNESS(ES)
New Hampshire (RSA 456-B:2-b, II(b), Uniform Law on Notarial Acts) has satisfactory evidence of identity by a verification upon oath or affirmation of a credible witness who is known to the officer or whom the officer can identify on the basis of a passport, driver license, or government-issued identification card; the oath is the act. Chapter title is the Uniform (not Revised Uniform) Law on Notarial Acts; modernized by 2021 ch. 206 (SB 134), eff. 2/6/2022.

Notary Fees
N.H. RSA § 455:11
N.H. RSA § 455:11 (NOTARIAL FEES): Notaries public shall be entitled to a fee of up to $10 for each oath, witness, service, or certification with the following exceptions: I. For services related to the taking of depositions, the notary public shall be entitled to the same fees as justices are entitled to receive pursuant to RSA 517:19. II. No fees shall be allowed for administering and certifying oaths of office of town officers.
